We wanted peace and quiet and it was there. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. The views from the cottage were great. It was in easy reach of gardens, beaches and a shop for everyday needs. We would love to stay there again.
There were just two small problems: we weren’t clear about what rubbish to put out and we got it wrong and we could have used an extra tea towel. Nothing that really bothered us and can easily be put right.
A wonderful holiday. 10/10

A lovely traditional cottage with modern comforts. 2 wood burners and wifi sold it to my teenagers and both worked without a hitch all week. Stunning location, a bit isolated but that’s what we wanted and 7 mins walk to the beach (with loos and car parking if needed). We were torn between relaxing in a home from home (TV and DVDs helped on wet days) and discovering a new part of the world. Lighthouse on the Mull of Galloway a must and we enjoyed paddle boarding at Galloway Activity Centre after a forest drive. The sun room in the cottage gave us plenty of space to spread out so it never felt cramped. Upstairs has low ceilings but these added to its quaintness and the upstairs loo along with full bathroom downstairs suited a family well. After a week we didn’t feel ready to leave… always a sign of a good holiday. 9/10
